		<description>I really like the comparison with the car when it comes to software testing tracking figures. I think that can be taken further with comparsions about driving down the free way when it&#039;s more difficult to get a feel for your actual speed so it&#039;s good to keep checking on your speedo. Where as when you&#039;re heading down a twisty country lane you have more reference points (e.g. bends in the road) when you get a feel for your relative speed so you don&#039;t need to look at the speedo so much. It&#039;s the same in software testing. When everything is going smoothly it can be useful to check your test case completion rate. When you&#039;ve got a software product which is in the early stages of development, and you&#039;re finding lots of bugs, it&#039;s pointless seeing how many test cases you&#039;re executing each day (most of your day is probably being taken up with analysing bugs.
