Happy Birthday To — Well, Us!
It was 12 short months ago that a little shop (and a big idea) named “uTest” set out to
improve the way that companies tested their web, desktop and mobile apps. Since our public launch last August, we’ve had some big-time fun and come a long way:
- Added hundreds of great customers
- Recruited thousands (and thousands) of professional testers
- Raised an additional $5.2 million in funding
- Added more horsepower to our exec team
- Won some ridiculously cool awards
- Completed more than 500 test cycles (not to mention 25,000+ bugs reported).
As we look back on the past year, we want to sincerely thank the customers, testers, investors and media outlets who have participated in our journey and enabled our rapid growth. Here’s to an even more successful 2nd year for all of us!

Birthday Wishes!!!
uTest has grown bigger than its age of 1 year.
Its been great success as a startup and I see 2nd year to be more promising.

A newbie, I have had the most exciting startup experience with uTest. (Can’t mention this often enough
)
Happy birthday. Its amazing what you guys achieved in 1 year.
One thing I specifically like about ‘uGuys’ is your obvious commitment to improve software quality. You have found an excellent setup and the success proves you are on the right track.
Alles Gute, nochmals, zum Geburtstag.
Max
I’m Happy to say that I’m a uTester and Lucky and proud to be associated with world’s largest software testing community.
A Very Happy Birthday.
Thanks so much Ed, Atul, Max and Mohammed.
We’re extremely pleased with the results of our first year in biz and looking forward to even bigger and better in year two… get ready because we’re gonna need all of your help to get there!
Matt J.
Happy Birthday uTest , it was a very fast 1 year.
Could you post following stats for year
1. Total Bugs filled
2. Total Bugs Accepted
3. Total Projects and Releases
4. Total amount earned testers during this phase (if possible)
5. Top 5 testers (by ratings + total bug posts)
Both utest Team members and testing community has played an very important role in success of utest. Why not honor the top testers and giving some credit to them in blog write up along with some gifts.
Have a very happy year 2
Best Wishes.
Ram Shankar
Thanks for the birthday wishes, Ram.
Some of the stats you mention are things we don’t release publicly for strategic reasons (plenty of competitors would like this info!). I can tell you that our testers have reported more than 25,000 bugs across more than 500 releases since our inception, and these figures are growing at an ever-increasing rate.
Re: recognition of top testers — we’re talking about this topic right now. We would likely do it near the end of the year, recognizing the top testers for ’09. Thanks for your questions.
Be well!
Matt
Happy Happy Birthday to uTest
Happy Birthday uTest
It is my honor to be part of uTest community.
Happy Birthday and Best Wishes
I am happy and proud to be among the community uTest
Hi Matt,
Glad to hear ’bout the topic of recognizing top testers. will 2008 be not considered for rating?
I’ll be looking forward to the results
Ha! I’m not commenting any further, since we haven’t dug deep into this and I don’t want to set any expectations.
Patience… we’ll make all these determinations as we get closer to the end of the year.
Be well and keep up the good work!
@Mohammed: I guess they would consider as this is first announcement for any such recognition.
I am sure it would be very hard as there are performers in Bug Battles likes of Bernard Lelchuk and then likes of Bug Ed with over 300 approved bugs while participating in major releases and still maintaining 4star plus rating. Then there is EitanG also with near 300 Bugs. I have also seen other performers and upcoming guys so by the year end there would be many ups and downs, but i am sure uTest will have special place for testers who where there from the initial days.
Put in your names to look out for as top testers at uTest.
@Matt: Expectations are very high as we have not seen much of recognitions for regular testers in past other than Bug Battles. Hence its been long waited over due. MVT is one very good step in the same line.
happy birthday utest…
being a part of Utest family I have learned a lot…
