Clarification in regards to the debit card Mastercard from Payoneer
Hello,
I wanted to take a few minutes and write about the concerns that were expressed about the uTest card/payment plan with Payoneer debit Mastercard. The concerns were centered around our choice of a payment plan and how it sounded to some as a credit card affiliate program “scam.”
Firstly, we chose the Payoneer debit card system because it would offer our testing community the most cost effective option and the fast way of getting paid. Our developing community is truly global, and we wanted to choose an option that would give the greatest number of options to the largest amount of our testers. The debit card would allow individuals to use their funds any way they wish: through an ATM cash withdrawal, paying just like a regular Mastercard credit card, and direct transfer to their bank account.
It is true that there is a $10 issuing and shipping fee that Payoneer charges for new cards as stated in the Payoneer Mastercard debit card Terms and conditions however uTest will be paying for the shipping and activation fees and NOT the tester. We apologize if we had not made this clear enough. Our testers will only pay for the maintenance fees (approximately $1-$3) and their ATM usage fees (standard with most ATM cards). The fees are solely related to Payoneer and their cost in providing the card and only apply if the debit card has a positive balance. uTest.com DOES NOT make any money from the fees, including affiliate income, We strictly focus at what we do best which is software testing . The Mastercard debit card by Payoneer is simply a service we wanted to provide our community that we believe would offer the greatest flexibility to our global community.
There were additional concerns about Payoneer and how some consumers were not familiar with their company. Payoneer is a respectful company, a certified issuer of credit cards from Mastercard, and has an extensive client list.
All that being said, we understand that some members of our testing community are not fully satisfied with the Payoneer payment system/debit card. Due to that growing demand we are going to be offering payment via PayPal in the next release which should offer even more flexibility for testers.

Paypal will be a much better option, although the best option if you are serious is direct deposit. Personally I don’t pay any ATM fees to my bank, and I think that is pretty common. I’m not about to commit to work for a company that requires me to pay monthly and/or transaction fees to receive what I’m owed.
I agree with Roy. Once you have a system worked out with paypal, then I’ll start testing. Payoneer just seemed shady.
Yeah glad to hear PayPal is coming soon.
Please note that issuing & shipping fees outside US is about double.
(But if you say it’s covered, then that’s great.)
I assume we can start testing, and define the payment method after we have a positive balance – is it ?

When I read about the utest through the techcrunch, I had every reason to believe it not to be a scam. Initially I did not sign-up for the debit card, but later went to choose the card and this morning I got a declined message from them. That prompted me to research further on how legit is this. I still have my doubts when I provide my complete identity details. I would highly recommend not to sign-up for the mastercard option where you need to give your complete identity details ( including ssn), choose paypal. I gave mine and as per this post if it is legit then I believe I will be safe.

Sometimes, just sometimes I would like to see one of those politicians how good they will do from one payday to the next. Sorry for getting a bit off topic, but I just came from the bank and they rejected my loan request. They said they won’t give any loans until the political situation becomes clear on foreign policy in the next few weeks. And next to the politicians I would like to see the bank owners who robbed us and our tax money. This is outrages.
